The Data Act explained

For your connected trucks, starting from 12 September 2025, the EU regulation called the Data Act grants you the right to access the data you generate by using our connected products and related services, as well as to share this data with third parties of your choice.

Learn more about our connected products, the data generated by them, and how you can access your data and share it with third parties.

If you are located in the EU, you may have certain rights under the Data Act if one of the following applies to you:

  • You own a connected product (for example, a connected truck), or
  • You use a related service of a connected product (such as the ConnecTruck app)

If you fall into one of these categories, the Data Act grants you two main rights regarding the data generated through your use of a connected product or related service:

Access: You have the right to access this data yourself.
Share: You can share this data with a third party of your choice located in the EU.

Importantly, these rights do not apply to all data generated by the product or service.
Data refers to the basic, raw information directly obtained from your usage, such as vehicle or charging data, which is readily available to us.
However, any insights, analyses, or new data we create are excluded from the scope of the Data Act.
You can find more information about the data below.

If you choose to share your data with a third party:

  • That third party must be located within the EU,
  • Make sure it is a person or company you trust,
  • It is advisable to have an agreement with them about how they will use your data,
  • Please note: under the law, if we send your data directly to the third party, any charges apply to them, not to you.
